In the midst of San Francisco’s Indian Summer, a few deciduous trees among the ever-present palms change color just slightly, reminding me that the seasons are in fact changing. In order to really solidify the feeling of Fall, however, leaving the city is a must. One of my favorite places to spend time is the childhood home of my friend Ali, in Healdsburg. Together we lounge languidly, catch up on our reading, cook and converse, swim in the murky pond, pick wild bouquets, and hike through the woods. Here are a few pictures from this past weekend at Deergnaw, a luscious, beautiful landscape with a cozy, converted cabin, hilltop olive orchard and bounteous garden. Enjoy the pictures, and Happy Autumn!
