Aimee and Michael decided to have a small wedding with just a few of their closest friends and families in the clearing of a friend’s meadow in Occidental, California. Aimee, also a photographer, asked that I shoot in film as well as digital, which was a dream. She also asked for extra attention in the relaxed, romantic shots of her and her new husband, frolicking at the edge of the forest. Her sexy, lacy, sixties inspired dress was custom designed by SF local, Nadia Erwee. Aimee and Michael’s sincerity and closeness shone brightly from within their low-key approach, tiny guest list and lovely, rustic setting. The banquet was incredible and delicious; prepared single-handedly by Wyatt Sandeberg, a chef from the Bay Area foodie heaven, Bi-Rite Market. The calmness and intimacy of this wedding was moving and potent. I was very honored to photograph the wedding of a photographer I admire.
